Kalachakra in Stockholm, Sweden 2010 We are very happy to announce that His Holiness the Sakya Trizin, head of the Tibetan Buddhist Sakya tradition, will give a Kalachakra empowerment in Stockholm, Sweden 10-11 July 2010. The Kalachakra empowerment that His Holiness will give in Sweden is from Vajravali, which contains more than forty great mandalas. It is by the great master Acharya Abhayakaragupta. This is not the grand Kalachakra empowerment that His Holiness the Dalai Lama has given in many parts of the world, but nonetheless it is a Kalachakra major empowerment of the full three mandalas of body, speech and mind. As this is a major empowerment (wangchen), it will be of two days duration - the first day of preparation and the second day of the actual empowerment. It is necessary to attend both days of the empowerment. There will not be a practice commitment; all are welcome to receive the empowerment as a blessing. During his visit, His Holiness will also give a public lecture on Shamatha and Vipashyana: Calm Abiding and Insight Meditation.
